Sunday school was never complete without a song that ties up the lesson of the day and for children that is the highlight of the day. I can remember the day we learnt about King Solomon and how he built the temple of God.
Although as children we did not understand the importance and significance of what he did, we however knew that the temple he built was magnificent. It was so beautiful that Scriptures after that would talk about how magnificent it was, even the Queen of Sheba traveled all the way from her Kingdom to see it.
Although Solomon built the temple he did not do it on his own, God told him how to build. He provided all that was needed and also gave instructions.
“Concerning this Temple you are building, if you keep all my decrees and regulations and obey all my commands, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father, David. I will live among the Israelites and will never abandon my people Israel.”
1King 6:12-13 NLT
God gave the instructions to David but Solomon was to do the work. Solomon used wisdom in that he was careful to obey every instruction given by God to his Father and then to him.
The first step in building with God is obedience, be careful to obey every instruction however “silly” it might seem, sometimes it might be to do something unusual like learning a skill you would not otherwise learn, or even to send a message to someone.
Whatever the instruction might be, we need to be swift and careful to obey, don’t drag your feet or think too much about it, simply get up and go.
Cheers,
Ishioma.
