Boogeyman.
It’s the spooky, scary that can be under your bead, in your closet, or even inside your very own family members.
Your kids, your parents, your spouse.
Anyone can be the Boogeyman. How would you even know?
Anyone, at any point, could exhibit the signs.
They’ll start talking about things that make you uncomfortable. Things that make you scared. Things that make you angry. Things that make you question everything you believe. Things that, at first, sound like superstition and coincidence, but keep happening true to the predictions of the Boogeyman.
And then, there’s the next step of the Boogeyman…
The ones we aren’t allowed to say the name of. The “He who shall not be named” along with the “You know whos.”
Taboos are put on those Boogeymen, for they are above and beyond the Boogeyman that appears in the closet. They are the Boogeymen that even the Boogeyman fears. You should not dare invoke their names, lest you face their wrath.
Make no mistake…
A spell was cast on the People. We’ve all been ensorcelled to the point where we are petrified to exhibit the assigned traits of the Boogeyman out of fear of being called the Boogeyman ourselves.
We’ve also been entranced such that no one is allowed to acknowledge or notice the Boogeymen to the Boogeyman.
Many lives were spent to cast this spell on us. Real lives, as well as fake.
Many lies have been told, fortified, and reinforced to maintain the illusion.
Behind walls of “ists” and “isms.” Bulwarks of name-calling which work oh so well to quash any and all who dare question; any and all who “notice” that things aren’t as their Daddy Gubment and the “Trusted Experts” tells them.
You wouldn’t want people to think you are a “Conspiracy Theorist”, would you?
“Those people” have cooties. If you go near them you can get the cooties too.
Don’t go near them, they are NAZIs. Don’t listen to them, they’re the racists. They’re homophobic. They’re transphobic. They’ll tell you things that will make you uncomfortable. They’ll try to make you like them. They’ll try to tell you that your actions have consequences.
Stay with us, stay where it is safe. Stay where we can make sure you understand what you’re seeing; what you’re hearing. We’ll make sure those bad feelings stay away.
Don’t read old books. Read our new books. Don’t listen to old speeches. Listen to our new speeches.
That’s the only way we can protect OurDemocracy™
Often the illusion is preferable to the truth. So stay comfortable. The truth means you have to change. You’re perfect exactly the way we want you to be. Stay where, when you make mistakes, you don’t have to face the consequences. We’ll just shift the consequences to someone else; someone who makes people like you uncomfortable.
We’ll blame those who aren’t like you, and you’ll be happy!
Don’t notice things. You might get upset. You might look up and see the strings.
Don’t look behind that door. Ignore the many costumes and uniforms. Don’t look at the disguises we’ve used. Don’t pick up the funny mustache and see where it was made.
Don’t notice that we change our names, our flags, and our oaths to fit the season.
Don’t notice that bread and circuses have been replaced with beer and sports.
Don’t notice that there’s always been one party, crafting emergencies to grab more power and hosting wars so you’re too busy fighting amongst yourselves.
Don’t notice that we hide behind minorities and victims, so long as faux empathy and compassion are still a currency.
Don’t notice that we only care about ourselves, and everyone else is a tool to be exploited; cattle for the slaughter.
Don’t notice that the Boogeyman is a fraud.
Don’t notice that we’re the Boogeyman.
Don’t notice that we always were.
Don’t notice that we love to humiliate you.
Don’t notice that we’re laughing at you.
