Breaking Barriers:
Wake County Public Libraries Leads the Way as North Carolina's First Sensory Inclusive™ Certified Library System
Have you heard the exciting news? Wake County Public Libraries has become the first library system in North Carolina to receive Sensory Inclusive™ certification from KultureCity®! This accomplishment has transformed the library into a safe and inclusive space, especially for those with sensory needs.
When you visit any of the 23 libraries in Wake County, you can access sensory-friendly items, such as weighted lap pads, sensory bags with noise-canceling headphones, and fidget tools. With this certification, Wake County Public Libraries and its staff are better equipped to provide a comfortable and accommodating experience for visitors with sensory sensitivities.
The addition of Sensory Inclusive™ certification to Wake County Libraries will make a significant difference in the lives of visitors with special sensory needs. This is another example of North Carolina's libraries leading the way in creating inclusive and safe spaces for their communities.
