The UN Security Council has delayed its vote on the Gaza ceasefire resolution until today, sometime in the morning.
When the meeting occurs, you may watch it on UN Web TV.
Apology
I apologize to everyone about the phone numbers that were sent out with the original call to action yesterday. I appreciate everyone that tried to call; I’m sorry, I know it is discouraging to try to call, only to find out that your call is blocked. I try to make my calls-to-action as easy for you as possible, and I failed yesterday.
The original posts have all been updated. I’m sending this update out through email in case I have some readers that don’t follow me on social media.
Why this call-to-action is important
It is unlikely that the UN or the UN Security Council will ever be the primary method through which Palestine gets its freedom, but that does not mean that we should not care about these proceedings. Here is why we should care:
It gives us a way to measure how successful we have been in pressuring our leaders to support freedom for Palestine and an immediate, permanent, and complete ceasefire.
Every time you contact your representatives, you should have a concrete ask. This gives us an excuse to put intense pressure on our representatives to support a ceasefire and freedom for Palestine, and it also gives us something concrete to ask for.
What to remember
We are running a marathon, not a sprint. We are not going to win freedom for Palestine with this action alone, but that doesn’t mean that we failed. The only way we fail is if we give up.
Every action you take makes a difference. Every time you call, email, or contact your representative matters. Every time. If you called/emailed yesterday, do it again, even if you copy and paste your prior email.
If you see this call to action after the vote has taken place, that is okay. Contact your representatives anyway, and tell them how you feel about the US’s vote.
Who to contact: Focus on the Biden Administration, State Department, and the US Mission to the UN
Part 1
If you live in the US, please contact your representatives today, even if you already did so yesterday.
If the Biden Administration vetoes again, we need to make it incredibly hard for them to do so. WE NEED TO FLOOD THEIR PHONE LINES AND INBOXES.
I know it is incredibly scary for some people to call representatives. Truthfully, I have a huge amount of anxiety surrounding talking on the phone, and I am usually physically shaking when I call. But please, remember our Palestinian siblings in Gaza. Then gather your courage and just do it. Your voice is needed, and it is needed NOW.
Who to contact
Please, contact all of them, if you can. If you don’t feel like you can contact them all, then prioritize calling the White House Comment Line (I’m sorry for directing you there on Monday when it wasn’t open!) Be polite but firm.

Try your best to call, but if you can’t, then email. Remember, it’s far better to email than to do nothing.

Hello, my name is ______. I'm calling about Israel's aggression against Palestine. I demand that the US support an immediate, permanent, and complete ceasefire in the vote in the UN Security Council today.
At this point, more than 16 Palestinians have been killed for every person killed on October 7th by Hamas. Most of the Palestinians that have been killed are civilians. It is unreasonable for the United States to continue to insist that the world condemn Hamas while Israelis kill Palestinians with impunity.
Another veto is unacceptable. This is a genocide and it must stop now. I demand that the US support an immediate, permanent, and complete ceasefire in the vote in the Security Council today.

Final thoughts
It’s crucial that we take the long view here—it is highly unlikely that we will achieve a full victory today, meaning a complete, immediate, and permanent ceasefire. The primary goal is to put INTENSE pressure on the State Department and the Biden Administration EVERY TIME they have a chance to do the right thing. Eventually, they will have no choice but to act.
