5 Principles of Individual Life
if you are condemned and insulted, do not be sad, but consider what has been said about you.
Imam Muhammad Baqir (Eleh Salam) said to Jabir bin Yazid Jafi , I advise you of five things
1️⃣ If you are wronged, do not wrong (anyone).
2️⃣ If you are betrayed (even) then you (never) betray
3️⃣ If you are denied, do not show anger
4️⃣ And if you are praised, do not be happy (do not let this happiness make you proud)
5️⃣ And if you are condemned and insulted, do not be sad, but consider what has been said about you.
If what has been said (and people have talked about you) is within you, then know that by denying the truth through anger, you are incurring the displeasure of Allah, and this displeasure is for you in the eyes of the people. (So try to accept the truth and correct it instead of getting angry while denying the truth in order to save your outward honor and glory in the eyes of people.) )
But if what they say about you and those things are not found in you, then this itself is a kind of reward that you are getting without hurting the body (let people talk about their backbiting and what they do).
Know that you can become our Shia only if all the people of your city and village get together and say that you are evil, then do not let this sadden you.
And if all the people of the city say with one voice that you are a very good and virtuous person, then this thing will not make you happy
Rather, compare yourself with the Book of Allah (Qur'an).
Look, if (as people have praised you) you are indeed on the path (of goodness) (i.e.) you stop from what is forbidden (in the Qur'an) and do what is encouraged. You are attracted and you are afraid of what you have been threatened with, so be steadfast and prosperous because what people say about you cannot harm you.
But if you see that you are separated from the Qur'an (and your actions are against the teachings of the Qur'an), then what has kept you deceived?.
