Today we’re releasing another new song that coincides nicely with the emergence of spring. This one is called “Rains”. You can listen to it now, via Transgressive Records:

Artwork by Ryan Hover
“Rains” is an optimistic song about the possibility of renewal. As if encouraging openness to change, springtime points to an inevitable summer that seems unimaginable in a desolate winter. Rainfall ferries away last year’s leaves, reanimates colorless grass, and invites new life to emerge.

Lyrics
Rains
clear clutter,
make rivers
down gutters,
uncover
new color.
Rediscover all you forgot about
when your world was draped in snow.
Rains
make motion,
fill valleys
with ocean.
Stay open,
you’re not broken.
Erosion carries debris away,
and it disappears downstream.
Rains
bring summer,
wings flutter,
bees hover,
barren meadows
recover
for another chance to begin again,
and I want the same for you.
NYC Show Coming Up
Let me also take a moment to remind New Yorkers that we’re playing a special “in the round” show at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on June 7th. This will likely be an unusual performance for us, playing in a circle, facing one another, as the audience surrounds us on all sides.
Michael and I will be accompanied by upright bassist Logan Coale and hopefully some other friends joining in as well. I’m might try my hand at playing some piano. It’s all starting to come together! Tickets are on sale now:
Okay, that’s all for the time being. Hope you’re spending some time outside today, pointing out new grass and trading out heavy coats for lighter ones.

Beautiful song as always
