Đà Lạt is tucked up in the central highlands of Vietnam, and is known for its cooler climes. The city would not exist were it not for the French colonialists who created the resort in the early 20th century as means of escaping from the relentless humidity found elsewhere in the country. Much like Cambodia’s Battambang, Đà Lạt is known throughout Vietnam as a source of some of the best produce in the country — the surrounding hills are home to farms producing tea, coffee, flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, and even wine. Activities abound outside the city — farm tours, hiking, waterfalls, ATV riding and zip-lining, but for the purposes of this guide we’re looking at three days in the city itself.
