I cannot believe it is already September. This year has actually moved fast. Usually it drags and drags, but I like the pace. A smooth pace.
So my mind has been going a mile a minute. I have so much to say, so much to try, so much to do…and I am really excited about it all. My life changed a bit two months ago, so I am finally able to kind of analyze where I am. For the last…wow…my whole like I have been playing defense with life. Now I can play offense.
So this week I am going to share some things about me, about here, where I am and where I am going. Be patient because I have a lot to share this week. So I am going to start off slow…
So you know now that Twitter has their ad revenue system. You probably have seen large accounts posting they have made somewhere from fifty bucks to $35,000. But you may not understand the system.
The ad revenue system works on posts that generate a lot of comments and quote tweets. And from there, they can slip in an ad and the creator of the original tweet will make money. Mostly works with verified comments. It is not much different than other ad sharing avenues.
But here is the thing. I refuse to make shitty people money. When you scroll through your timeline and someone asks you if you would “smash or pass” a catered picture of a hamburger, they do not care what you would do. They want you to comment. When someone shows you a picture of Luke Skywalker and says “I bet you do not remember who this is.” They know damn well you know. They are banking on you commenting, and then others and so on.
Those are the mild ones. But there is also the crappy ones. Say Kevin Sorbo writes a sexist or hateful remark. What do I always do? I always tell him to go f*ck himself. And then others comment either way. And that makes him money.
That is the problem. Nick Adams writes about Hooters for you to quote tweet him wondering if he is a parody account. Tomi Lahren banks on you writing a nasty comment so he can quote tweet you, make your life hell, and then make a lot of money. The Krassenstein brothers play both sides of the fence now for comments. And all you are doing is making them money.
These assholes are all making money off your outrage and/or naming an easy topic.
Now, I have no issue making good people money. Hell, I am doing this for a living now so I ask for paid subscribers and Ko-Fi donations and shit like that. So I would be more than happy to comment on Three Year Letterman, who donates all his ad money to charity. I would support Mueller She Wrote or Mary Trump or Parker Malloy. Absolutely without a doubt. They have given years of great content.
But with that, I have made the decision to keep my politics and comments here. I will not keep any behind a paywall so you can subscribe for free and see all my thoughts. they have not changed. I am using Twitter for sports cards, which is a story for later this week.
So expect a few posts here more than ever. Yes, I have the same views on DeSatan and Pence and 3 Toes. I have also watered down a little of my thoughts on the election due to the fact that I am not concerned one bit about the Republicans. But I also know some people on the left are really acting obnoxious lately. Not as bad as the right, but enough to say “Hey…pipe it!”
So that is my news of the day. Art is coming back exclusively here. To people I love. I truly love this space here. I cannot promote cards here lol. That is for Twitter. but I can give you the voice you have known, and the art you have seen.
So get ready…its going to be a lot of fun.
Thanks for reading. Like I said, subscribe for free to enjoy 90% of the goodies. Paid subscription will get you chat access, comments, some paywall posts and exclusive pricing on my art and sports cards!
And as always, if you like what you see, you can always leave a donation/tip here. Thank you all!
Thank you for explaining this. I honestly didn’t know how it worked.
Thanks for explaining this. I am going to do my best to not comment on shitty people’s posts.
Truthfully, I rarely am on Twitter anymore. Elon has really ruined it for me.
