The Rising Tide by Shubhodeep Roy
About The Project
Climate change has been causing the water to rise steadily for years, endangering the livelihoods of the coastal residents, who are struggling more frequently with increasingly severe flooding. Natural disasters are nothing new for the people living along the northern Bay of Bengal coast. This set of photographs have been captured during my visit to a coastal town on the eastern coast of the Indian peninsula. While documenting the seashore and its inhabitants, I witnessed many mundane moments turn into exceptional visuals with the infusion of the strong human spirit battling the rising tide, these photographs are a part of my ongoing project "The Rising Tide".
IR Photography by Manas Patolé
About the Project
I modified a basic point ‘n shoot to give it an extended “raw” vision. With the IR filter taken out, it can now “see” the infrared spectrum and visible light. This throws the internal colour processing off balance to produce some really interesting images. I have taken this camera to many places over the past few months to shoot all sorts of objects, natural phenomena and scenes in different lights. It’s taken me a step closer to understanding the art of photography essentially as a play of light.
Bombay Street by Yahya Gopalani
About the Project
I am doing many series but I love this one in particular in which I try to capture the streets of Mumbai in black and white.
Winter Mornings In Ahmedabad by Meet Kuntmal
About this Project
Ever since childhood, mornings have always intrigued me. They portray the preparations that go behind all the successful as well as unsuccessful ventures whether it’s a person performing Yoga to keep themselves fit or someone setting up their shop to feed their family. Therefore, I made a small attempt to capture these beautiful moments that depict my feelings.
