Dear Honest Men and Bonnie Lassies,
In this weeks (~8m) VL Mini-series Episode 06.1 (part 1 of 2 on corruption)1, we
Talk about corruption2;
(4m 29s) Talk a little more about the concept of truth, it’s importance and briefly express feelings of discontent towards the political systems, elite and leaders; and
(6m 39s) Butcher two (relevant) bangin' tunes.
Additional commentary on the mini-episode
(From 5m 43s) At the moment, lies and broken promises by politicians voted into leadership positions by the masses in democratic societies, may be looked upon as an ethical corruption of one’s inner being and not conducive to a brilliantly illuminated true self. I posture that the systems that not only allow, but promote this type of behaviour, need a thorough review and alternative options proposed. Additionally and in the interim, this insincerity should perhaps be considered punishable through something like a “Public office lies and broken promises law and regulation” (drawing on laws and regulations already in place to tackle corruption relating to money). Seeking power and personal gains, pandering deceitful rhetoric and causing societal divide should not be allowed, let alone condoned.
Some (very brief) notes to raise awareness this week
It is somewhat pitiful, but I have added the Iranian flag to my Twitter handle and continue to follow a number of prominent Iranian protesters. Some of the stories coming out of Iran are harrowing and inspirational. ✊🇮🇷 Freedom!
We celebrated Black History Month with the couple of related mini-series episodes released and will watch the inspirational Selma (2014 movie) - here is the Official Trailer. The passionate movie theme song video, Glory by Common & John Legend is also worth viewing (a few times).
Developments in Ukraine and some analysis from experts in various sources are fascinating. I feel love when I see anything blue and yellow at the moment. Here are a couple of interesting Foreign Affairs articles:
If you’re ever searching for a source of gratitude, at any point, perhaps look no further than your hands. Without thumbs, our ancestors would not have been able to pick up a branch and sharpened it to make a spear. All subsequent physical tools would likely be non-existent.
One may have actually gone too deep in the search for a source of gratitude there - one may look no further than looking 👀🤯😉
Have a great weekend when it comes!
Much love and big hugs,
Ross
✊💙💛🇮🇷💛💙✊
Here are accompanying mini-series episode tunes that I butchered, but may provide some inspiration to help the message stick and soar; or get your weekend off to a flyer 🥳
