Kelly Perez, MSW and Courtney Mathis, MNM, CEOs/co-founders of Cannabis Doing Good(CDG) and co-founder of the Cannabis Impact Fund (CIF) believe that equity and justice-focused, community-cannabis partnerships can improve community health, and help to shift the cannabis narrative from the negative War on Drugs, to one of positive economic equitable opportunities.
Kelly is passionate about social justice and is an experienced policy expert in racial justice, community health, and health equity. Kelly was the Human Services Policy Adviser to Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and led in the creation of the world’s first Office of Marijuana Coordination to effectively roll out adult-use cannabis, using the public health approach as a guide. She is an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.
Courtney has 13 years’ experience in cannabis where her primary focus has been to create a purpose-driven industry committed to community benefit and racial justice. She specializes in building social responsibility programs through CDG’s trademarked Cannabis Social Responsibility® framework as well as social equity programs for cannabis businesses and policy creators.
Most recently Kelly and Courtney’s work has focused on stewarding anti-racism/DEI best business practices for their cannabis clients and building legacy CSR programs for companies across the country.
