We make the difference.
The bottom-up government of the people, by the people. That was what the caucus was.
A week ago today, Saturday, March 2, was the Idaho Republican Party Presidential Caucus. President Donald J Trump was the overwhelming choice of Idahoans.
In Elmore County, we had a hugely successful caucus, and we stayed to accommodate everyone who wanted to participate in this historic event.
I am so proud of the Precinct committeemen of Elmore County and grateful to each of them for making our event so hugely successful.
I want to thank Chair Moon and her team for working so hard to ensure that Idaho had a voice in choosing the Republican nominee for President of the United States.
The Governor of this state and the Legislature knew full well what they were doing when they removed our presidential primary from the Idaho Code. They crafted a trailer bill that did not pass, knowing it would not see the lite of day, ensuring that Idahoans would lose their opportunity to be a part of the nominating process.
The IDGOP's official position at the moment the legislature adjourned was that the governor should call a special session to return the primary.
This did not happen. To ensure that Idahoans were protected, Chair Moon and her team devised a plan to be submitted to the National GOP to hold a caucus, fully funded and run by local Republican Central Committees.
AND WE DID.
Amid bad press, nasty mailers, and childish smack talk, we prevailed and held great events across the state.
We were fully transparent, accommodated those with physical challenges, and did all in our power to include every registered Republican who came to our location to cast their ballot.
I want to thank my committee and the volunteers who put so much into our caucus. We have a fantastic central committee in Elmore County, not just the PCs but those who attend our meetings and step up.
THESE AMAZING VOLUNTEERS ENSURED THAT IDAHO’S VOICE WAS HEARD!
This is a reminder to those who want to run for office: Filing begins today and goes through March 15th. Be involved and care about the future.
I will be campaigning for Senate in Legislative District 8. Please let me know if you have questions or want to host a meet-and-greet. My priority is meeting with you in person and listening to your concerns.
You are important to me. Our future is important to me.
Until next time,
May God hold us in his hand.
Christy
Beautiful tribute to our chair, our caucus, and the values we cherish.
We need you, Christy, especially in District 8 where our representation lacks the high qualities you embody.
I hope all Idahoans will support you, whether they live in District 8 or not. Every Idaho legislator influences the daily life of every Idahoan.
So, Idaho, be smart. Tell others about this amazing lady. Support her with your dollars, your vote (if you live in District 8), and by sharing her message of liberty and justice for all.
🙏 Amen! 🙏
