At 25 hours and 5 minutes, when Senator Cory Booker ended his marathon speech, he beat the record of a racist, white man who was opposing the passage of the Civil Rights Act. Senator Booker, a Black man, beat this hateful record by talking about health insurance, education, social security, and fighting for what all Americans deserve to have their basic needs met.
