I am a guitar teacher by trade so a very real part of my job is getting people to practice. Consequently, I’ve always had a leg up on my own motivation to write.

There are two things I do these day to get myself to face off against a white page and a blinking cursor.

One (you know this one): I set up a consistent time to write. I used to have a specific time, around 8:30. Now I’m just like, boy, you can’t do anything else until you write.
